Jayalalithaa Suffers Cardiac Arrest, Condition Critical
Update: As per NDTV reports, #Jayalalithaa’s condition is still critical even as she underwent a angio procedure, a heart surgery earlier this morning.
Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa has been closely monitored by an expert team of Apollo Hospital after suffering from a cardiac arrest on Sunday.
The 68-year old Jayalalithaa is said to be very critical as she had been put on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), a heart assist device.
A massive number of supporters from her party, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has gathered outside the hospital premise, praying for her recovery.
Jayalalithaa had earlier been admitted to Apollo Hospital on 22 September after she complained of fever and dehydration.
She was undergoing treatment for infection and respiratory problem for nearly two months.
